Three’s Company

Friday morning, we had a rental car reserved for pickup at a nearby hotel…Connor was flying in from Ohio around noon, and between picking him up/dropping him off at the airport and keeping ourselves entertained for the weekend, we decided a car would be our best bet. From our bus ride on Thursday, we had figured out where to get off the bus to then walk to the hotel…but what a treacherous walk it was, across on-ramps and through construction areas. We made it safely and after a little bit of a hassle at the rental car counter, we had our wheels for the next four days. We picked up Connor and did some outlet shopping near the airport, then headed back to College Park – first stop, Home Depot for a basic $14 shower head…and then to the grocery store to pick up the essential food items Connor would need for his 3-night stay with us.

The $14 investment at Home Depot was a lifesaver…what a huge difference in water pressure. Problem solved – and now there was enough pressure to actually get the water heater to kick in…although it beeps sometimes and shuts off briefly. Need to have that looked at (Mark has already made an appointment for shortly after we return to Rochester, for the dealer to fix the laundry list of things we’ve found/will find that need attention!)

We had a nice dinner, using the portable gas grill we purchased for use while camping, and using one of the gas burners in our mini-kitchen as well as the microwave/convection oven. Testing everything out!

Our very ‘efficient’ RV kitchen!

Connor brought with him a very important item…a connector that allowed us to get RoVer’s TVs working! Our Amazon FireStick is now connected so we can watch and record our usual stuff on YouTube TV and even see Rochester local news wherever we are!

Connor slept in the bunk in the cabin – lowers down over the driver/passenger chairs. Definitely a little short for his 6’1” body, but he managed. Using a ladder to get in/out of bed wasn’t exactly his idea of fun, but he got through it!

Testing out Connor’s bunk before we left Rochester…
